Boston Mensa Homepage

Mark your calendars! May 8-10, 2009

Join Boston Mensa on beautiful Cape Cod for one of the most affordable RGs in all of Mensadom!

We offer a relaxing, unstructured gathering of old friends and new with plenty of dining, shopping, swimming (heated indoor pool), socializing and great hospitality.

Take a day trip to Provincetown, track down some first-rate seafood at the Lobster Pot, visit the Wellfleet Fleamarket or catch a movie at the Drive-In Theater. Go whale watching, horseback riding, antiquing, bicycling, or just sit back and listen to the ocean!

On Friday Registration and Hospitality open at 3 pm. There'll be water, soft drinks, fruit drinks, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, candy, chips, and salsa, wine and beer that will continue throughout the weekend. Dinner will be served at 6 pm. We're having baked ham, vegetarian lasagna, candied sweet potatoes, green beans with toasted almonds, and a salad bar. Desserts provided by our guests. At 9 pm we'll be serving martinis and two hot soups--pea soup with ham and curried sweet potato soup. The soups and salad bar will continue throughout the weekend.

On Saturday beginning at 7 am there will be coffee, tea, a Cowboy breakfast, scrambled eggs, home fries, sausage, bacon, fruit, mimosas, bagels, cream cheese and lox, and cavier. Saturday at 9 pm you'll have manhattens to enjoy.

Sunday's breakfast will include sandwiches, boiled eggs, fruit, donuts, and whatever we have leftover.

Hospitality News

One thing is already certain: there will be the usual over-abundance of great food! Still, check back often for updates as we firm up our plans.

Last year we borrowed a page from the playbook of our friends in NH and invited Cape RG goers to bring a homemade snack to share to help increase the variety. Well, it worked and we enjoyed all sorts of unusual treats. So, please, bring that special treat that you keep in reserve for special occasions!
